Photo Journal: Winter Solstice 2022

One quick session this morning at sunrise over the Alsea Bay, however, the fog was so thick I could barely see 100 yards – as little as 25 yards in some spots along the bay. The photos turned out really well, though. I think I captured the mood of the morning really well and this set is by far my favorite I have taken to date. It was so quiet. All you could hear was the birds flying in the fog and then suddenly they would appear and then disappear again into the fog. It was very Hitchcockian and I think I was successful in capturing that.

Ended this year’s Winter Solstice watching the sunset. It was a beautiful, but cold, sunset with these amazing clouds that bisected the sun making it feel like I was watching the sun of an alien planet.
