The California Brown Pelicans are migrating through this week. I was able to grab some black-and-white shots of them resting on the beach. They are much bigger in person than you’d expect.
I also ran up to Newport to try to get some photos of the boats coming in from the sea. It was quiet, but I got a few shots worth keeping.
I also went down to Tenmile Creek area, south of Yachats, and took some photos of the Ziggurat House, which recently tragically burned. I spoke with the owner, Pamela, and she told me the investigation is still open and they don’t know what they will end up doing with the property. I wish I had been lucky enough to visit the home before it burned. Its is an amazing, icon home from every direction. I hope they are able to save it in some way.
We’ve been having so much fun feeding the birds and squirrels in the garden. The jays are just so beautiful in different lights!
